In “Jap”, I made an older man, who don't understand English at all, shouts in broken English about humiliating statement that expresses the inferiority complex that the Japanese have developed towards the United States over the 60 years since the end of World War II.
In “Comedy” I wrote a kind of TV skit in which, a German woman speaking Japanese, is teaching, indeed almost torturing, a young man on the importance of human rights.
This work is made during the artist-in-residence program at Arcus Studio in Moriya City, Japan. The performers are all people I met in the town.
